Hi [member_first_name],

I hope you and your family have been enjoying the holiday season. With only a few days left before we ring in the New Year I wanted to take a moment to thank you again for the support you have shown Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure over this past year. We could not have come this far without you and I hope you know how much we appreciate your commitment to finding a cure for brain cancer. While your generosity has been vital to our progress, as you know, there is still more that needs to be done. We are gearing up for 2013 and your tax deductible, year-end gift would make a huge difference in our efforts to impact change and accelerate the search for a cure.

Please help us show that “This is Personal” with a gift today.

Thank you in advance and Happy New Year!

Dear Friends,
My name is Mark Green and my dedication to Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure’s mission is as personal as it gets—I am a brain cancer survivor. In the summer of 2011, the news of my diagnosis hit me and my family like a bolt of lightning. Two brain surgeries and 33 radiation treatments later, I am lucky to be living a fairly normal life. While most days I remain optimistic about the future, one thought always lingers in the back of my mind - my brain cancer is incurable and may recur.
Show “This is Personal”
and work with us to
find a cure!

Prior to my diagnosis, I had never given much thought to the disease. However, over the last year, I have learned a lifetime of information. In the beginning it was easy to feel defeated. I was shaken by the fact that, even though the average life expectancy for GBM patients is only 12-15 months and brain tumors are the second leading cause of cancer deaths among children, there has been little commercial motivation to invest in research because brain cancer accounts for only 2% of all cancers.
Research holds the cure—but all research is NOT created equal!
When I discovered Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure I was inspired by its unique approach. It’s an organization that understands that the lack of treatments stemmed from not only a funding shortage, but also the risk-averse nature of traditional nonprofits and a lack of effective research collaborations. ABC2 is on a mission to be a catalyst for real progress and its strategic funding model allowed it to help accelerate the drug discovery process and bridge the research gap that existed between academic researchers and pharmaceutical companies.

Brain cancer is not a one-size-fits-all disease and the approach to treatments can't afford to be either. We need smart, focused and dedicated groups infusing the right amount of money into the right projects at the right time. And I am confident that Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure has the greatest chance of achieving real impact in my lifetime.
We need your help! Donate today and declare "This is Personal"
We simply cannot afford to wait for a cure. We must make it happen. The fight should be personal to everyone. After all, this disease does not discriminate and knows no age, race, gender or economic status. The only way to protect ourselves and our loved ones is to aggressively accelerate the research that will lead to new treatments and one day a cure.
In order for Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure to remain at the forefront of cutting-edge research they need our help. I encourage you to join me and donate now to support this important work—$5, $10, every dollar counts!
On behalf of my family and the entire Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure team I thank you for your continued commitment.
This is personal!
