As ABC2’s Events and Development Associate, Donovan supports major events and coordinates personal fundraising initiatives. He also manages day to day development operations and internal research projects.
Donovan found his way to ABC2 shortly after joining the non-profit sector where he began by supporting efforts to raise money for those who could not afford comprehensive drug and alcohol addiction counseling, as Caron Treatment Center’s Regional Research & Development Assistant. He’s now channeled his passion for helping those in need to the fight against brain tumors which will claim nearly 17,000 lives this year.
A native Washingtonian, and graduate of The University of The District of Columbia with a Liberal Arts degree, he’s also an avid writer, having been published in Huffington Post, Washington Blade, and Tagg Magazine, to name a few. He’s also an activist for social causes, volunteering his time to organizations including PFLAG (DC Metro Area), LAMBDA, and HRC.
Donovan has also tried his hand in the performing arts, writing, producing and acting in local DC film, and stage productions.
