From all of us who have lost friends and family members to brain cancer, we are saddened to learn that Senator John McCain died today after battling the disease. Our support and sympathy go out to his loved ones.
The 21st Annual Race for Hope – DC, presented by Cushman & Wakefield, brought together nearly 10,000 brain cancer advocates raising more than $1.8 million to benefit Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure (ABC²) and the National Brain Tumor Society (NBTS).
An engineered version of poliovirus improved the overall survival rate of patients with a lethal form of brain cancer, according to results from a phase one clinical trial. ABC² was an early funder of this research.
Investigators with the ALLELE consortium presented their latest research at the 2018 American Society of Clinical Oncology meeting. ABC² built the consortium to bring leading research institutions together to provide robust genomic profiling to brain cancer patients.
