Max Wallace
Max is CEO of Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure. Prior to joining ABC², Max was CEO of TheraLogics, an early-stage anti-cancer biopharmaceutical company based on NFκB modulation technology developed at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He previously co-founded and served as President of Trimeris, a public biopharmaceutical company that created and brought to market the world’s first entry inhibitor, Fuzeon,  establishing a new class of drugs for HIV/AIDS and other viral diseases. Max also founded and developed several other biopharmaceutical companies, including Cogent Neuroscience; Sphinx Pharmaceuticals Corporation (now a division of Eli Lilly & Co); and SARCO (now a part of PPD/Pharmaco).

Prior to starting Trimeris in 1993, Max spent 10 years on the staff of Duke University. He was a founding Investment Director of Duke Management Company, the asset management company for the University, where he developed novel approaches to technology development, commercialization and new business creation. Previously at Duke, he served in the Office of General Counsel, as the University’s Medical Center Legal Counsel, and as Duke’s Director of Government Relations.  Max received a B.A. in English and Political Science from Duke and a J.D. from the University of Florida.

Nicola Beddow
Nike is Vice President of Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure, and leads ABC²’s special events and communications program.  She joined ABC² to increase the impact of our anti-cancer initiatives by developing events like the Cassidy & Pinkard Colliers Race for Hope 5k – Run/Walk to Benefit Brain Tumor Research. Prior to starting the Race for Hope - DC, Nike served for 4 years as a Senior Producer for United States Information Agency’s Worldnet Television. Worldnet produced innovative, international television programming for the U.S. Department of State, bringing together global opinion leaders on a wide range of issues.

Nike received a B.A. in International Relations and Economics from The Catholic University of America and an M.A. in Communications Management from the University of Southern California.

Jim Ervin
Jim is Vice President of Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure, and directs ABC²’s development initiatives.  He joined ABC² after working for 11 years at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  From 2000 to 2008, Jim served as the Director of Development and External Relations for the University’s Division of Student Affairs, Director of Development for the School of Dentistry, and Associate Director of Development and Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations for the School of Public Health.  Jim began his career in the UNC Department of Athletics as Assistant Director of Sports Marketing and then Director of Marketing for Football and Women’s Basketball.

Jim received a B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication and an M.A. in Sports Administration, both from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

David Sandak
David is Vice President of Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure, and manages ABC²’s operations and entrepreneurial programs. Prior to joining ABC², Dave was Executive Director of the National Conference on Citizenship, a Washington, DC-based corporation chartered by Congress to enhance civic engagement. Previously, Dave served as Advisor to David T. Kearns, former Chairman and CEO of Xerox Corporation.

Dave received a B.A. in Economics and Government from Colby College and was a Hansard Scholar at the London School of Economics.

Danielle Rosenzweig
Danielle is Director of Events at Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure, and leads ABC²’s inaugural Florida Brain Cancer Walk, in addition to managing other major donor events. Prior to joining ABC², Danielle was Special Events Coordinator for the Washington, DC office of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Previously, she managed events at the Heart of America Foundation.

Danielle received a B.A. in Marketing Communications from Columbia College and an M.A. in Tourism Administration with a concentration in Non-Profit Event Management from The George Washington University School of Business.
