Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure Gathers the Best and Brightest at its Fifth Annual Scientific Retreat

This is a time of tremendous promise for brain cancer patients and Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure was joined by preeminent scientists and clinicians, as well as patients, industry and regulatory officials representing more than 20 institutions.

   
  First Angel Investor Award, Given in Memory of Dan Case, Granted to a Collaborative Team of Researchers

This fall, we established an "Angel Investor Fund" -our own non-profit version of a venture capital fund to award grants for significant, novel research projects that will move the brain cancer field forward in the near term. We are excited to announce that a team of researchers from University of California, Los Angeles and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center is the first to receive the Angel Investor award.

 
   
  The Cancer Genome Atlas - An Update from Dr. Anna D. Barker, Deputy Director of the National Cancer Institute

The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) is a collaborative initiative between the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI), initiated as a three-year pilot project that will use the reference sequence and technologies from the Human Genome Project to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the changes in the three cancer types chosen for the pilot.
