Kate Carr brings a wealth of experience in politics, government, and public-private partnerships to her role as President and CEO of Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure. Ms. Carr joined Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure in January 2006 to lead the organization in its charge to hasten a cure for brain cancer and achieve the vision of a day when all brain cancer patients are told they have a manageable disease.

Ms. Carr brings new energy to the organization's efforts to lend hope to patients by accelerating a cure for brain cancer. In keeping with Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure's approach of utilizing for-profit business principles to achieve not-for profit goals, the organization will continue its focus on translational research projects that quickly move potential therapies into the clinic for brain cancer patients.

Kate Carr is particularly suited for her role with Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure. As the former President and CEO of the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, she led the organization through an international expansion that produced remarkable strides in the struggle against a pandemic that has ravaged the globe. Ms. Carr championed their mission of creating a future of hope for children worldwide by eradicating pediatric AIDS, providing care to people with HIV/AIDS, and accelerating the discovery of new treatments for other pediatric illnesses.

Before her seven years with the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, Ms. Carr was the Chief Operating Officer for the Welfare to Work Partnership. She also served as a Special Assistant to the President in the Clinton White House, overseeing outreach and partnerships with the business community.
