David Cook And Friends Race Towards A Cure At The LA Marathon

The team raised more than $112,000 for brain cancer research on behalf of Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure.

We all know American Idol champion David Cook is the real deal!  When David sets a goal - whether it's completing his first marathon or raising $100,000 for brain cancer research - he and his fans go above and beyond to guarantee success.  Thanks to David for his leadership and congratulations to him and all the devoted ABC2 supporters who ran and completed the 2012 Honda LA Marathon on March 18th!  ABC2's Race Towards A Cure team raised more than $112,000 to fund cutting-edge brain tumor research.

David rolled out his ambitious fundraising efforts on Crowdrise.com, the LA Marathon's official fundraising platform launched by actor/activist Edward Norton.  The campaign began in December 2011 with the Mozilla Firefox Charity Challenge.  David's team raised over $40,000 in that effort alone.  The momentum continued to build as new supporters joined David's cause.  Los Angeles radio DJ Lisa Foxx, at 104.3MyFM, formed her own Race Towards A Cure team, ran the LA Marathon Charity Relay and hosted a series of radio interviews with David to raise awareness.

The day before the marathon, ABC2 hosted a luncheon for the Race Towards A Cure team to thank them personally for their commitment to a brain cancer cure.  All had a great time for a great cause!
