Nike is co-founder of the Race for Hope DC – the world’s largest brain tumor community event that has raised over $20 million since 1998. She lost her 31 year-old sister Dana to brain cancer in 1998. Ever since, she has passionately built a grassroots network of survivors, patients, family members, friends, physicians and researchers that, together, can speed the discovery of a brain cancer cure.
Nike joined ABC2 in 2008 to work with people who share her belief in a collaborative, venture philanthropy approach to funding the most innovative and promising research.
Nike leads the communication and partnership efforts at ABC2. Prior to her brain tumor community work, Nike produced award-winning international broadcasts with high-profile guests for the U.S. Department of State. She has an M.A. from the University of Southern California and a B.A. from the Catholic University of America.
Nike, her husband and two sons enjoy traveling and sports. Nike is a competitive tennis player, a science-geek wannabe and a huge fan of electronic, jazz and classical music.
