Thanks To Our Race Towards A Cure Marine Corps Marathon and MCM10k Team!

Congratulations to Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure’s 2013 Race Towards A Cure Marine Corps Marathon and MCM10K team!  We had 37 runners participating in either the MCM10k or the Marine Corps Marathon on Sunday, October 27th in Washington, DC.  With the support of many friends, co-workers and family, our team has raised over $59,000 for brain tumor research.

Some Race Towards A Cure participants raised funds individually, others set up their own teams, including:  Team Steven, Braingels, Team Dr. V, Cranium Cannons, Long Distance Bunnies and Orange Northstars.

One of our runners, BethAnn Telford is a brain cancer survivor who finished this year’s marathon in 3:42:09, which qualified her to run the 2014 Boston Marathon. “I have run this race for each of the past 11 years and I was determined not to miss this one,” said BethAnn Telford.  “Because this event holds such significant meaning to me, I designated each mile to a child that I know or have known that has also battled cancer.”  BethAnn Telford and Cristina Bonner from Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure, were interviewed on the CBS WUSA 9 morning news!
