Brain Cancer Survivors & VIPs to Rappel 365 Ft Down Tallest Building in San Diego for Brain Cancer Research
WHO: Supporters of the brain cancer community and Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure (ABC2), a nonprofit organization that drives cutting-edge research and treatments for brain tumors.
WHAT: Over the Edge for Brain Canceris a two-day event in which participants or “edgers” commit to a fundraising minimum in exchange for the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to rappel down the tallest building on the San Diego skyline, the Manchester Grand Hyatt. Spectators and supporters are invited to gather on the pool deck of the hotel to cheer on their favorite “edger” while enjoying high-energy entertainment.

· Two inspiring brain cancer survivors and endurance athletes - BethAnn Telford, national brain cancer advocate,and Monica Allen, local San Diegan - who refuse to let their diagnoses slow them down. BethAnn even competed at the 2012 Ironman World Championship at Kona, HI.
WHY: Brain cancer is the leading cause of tumor cancer deaths among children and young adults. There are more than 600,000 people in the U.S. today with a brain tumor diagnosis, and another 66,000 new diagnoses are expected this year. It is a uniquely challenging disease that is not only in need of additional attention, but also an increase in strategic, focused research funding.
